Virtual Reality Development

Victory Enterprises is a national leader in virtual reality development.

“Walmart said.. it is providing Oculus Go virtual reality headsets to all of its US stores as part of a nationwide expansion of a VR-based employee training program. The big box retailer first experimented with VR in its training academies a year ago and now says the program has proved its worth, with employees reporting boosts to confidence and technology familiarity after training on the headsets.” — ZDNet News

Virtual Reality for hard-to-train tasks

VR can create a substitute for training that is:

R – So R A R E that it’s difficult to train for in standard training

II M P O S S I B L E to train for due to the recreation of the situation, like an underwater pipeline

D – A situation that is too DANGEROUS to put someone at risk in a training environment, like a live (and loose) electrical wire on a pole

E – Sometimes it’s too EXPENSIVE to train employees or volunteers in a unique situation. It might involve travel or time-consuming set up. In these cases, recreating the situation in virtual reality can be an affordable substitution.

Virtual Reality is a perfect solution if you

  • Need to demonstrate a product at a trade show that is a large, small or too complicated to get into the show
  • Have a training exercise that fits in the RIDE scenario (see above)
  • Want to transport others to your place of business or a location where your product is at work
  • Want an entertainment tool that is contained in a small space
  • Want to create empathy with others in a less fortunate situation
  • Need to train people on medical or veterinary procedures

What you should know about developing a project in virtual reality

  • Small projects range between $5,000 and $7,500.
  • Most projects cost $10,000 to $25,000.
  • Our most expensive project was about $50,000.
  • Virtual reality is seen in a headset and completely replaces the world around you.
  • Augmented reality can be seen through a phone or a headset and is a 3D object super imposed over the real world. Think Pokemon Go.
  • 360 Video is not quite virtual reality but is close enough to seem like it to most people.
  • 360 Video costs less than full virtual reality creation. It can be seen on YouTube or within a headset.
  • Robust headsets are connected to a computer via a cable. The computers need a robust graphics chip like the Nvidia 1060.
  • Most untethered headsets cost between $200 and $650.
