In April we featured an article about integrating Quick Response codes, or QR codes, into a campaign. We’ve had a lot of luck adding them into the content we produce for clients, and we think you ought to give it a try.

You’ve probably seen them at restaurants urging people to view their menu online, or on commercials leading people to visit a website. QR codes are more prevalent than ever, and their widespread use is testament to their effectiveness.

Next time you send a mailing or have a palm card printed or ask for money, add a QR code. When fundraising, you can send people directly to your contribution page for supporters to make an easy donation online. When sending a mail piece or producing a palm card, add a QR code so you can direct recipients to more information about your campaign. Printed literature is meant to be general and easy to read, and if someone is interested, they’ll take the time to read more about you online.

To utilize a QR code, all you need to do is follow three easy steps:

  1. Open your phone’s camera app.
  2. Focus the camera on the QR code so it appears in the frame, and a link will appear.
  3. Tap the link to visit the website.
