Explain to us a situation where there was a crisis situation with a website project, and you had to pivot or problem-solve on a moment’s notice.
Our most common crisis situation is getting a website live in a very short period of time. Our team is good at reacting to timelines and working hard to get fast moving campaign websites off the ground. We’ve also had a crisis where a website received more user traffic than expected which caused issues with the server performance. Our team quickly scaled the server to allow for more users and increase the website speed.
Describe for us your typical day.
Each day starts with sifting through my emails and incoming tasks. I then get any emails into wrike and notify clients that I have received their email and when they should expect an update. I check on the developers and get updates on their current tasks. I let them know what to prioritize and when things need to be done. I also work on any web development and content management that is needed. My main role is to keep clients happy and up to speed on their requests, while also keeping my developers on task and busy!
What is your favorite part of the website process?
My favorite part of the process is seeing the vision come to life and getting the site fully tested and launched. Learning and integrating new features into websites is also fun!
Describe your role on website projects.
My role varies for each project. My main role is to keep the project on task, update the client, and provide final sign off (project management). I also assist with building the website and providing visual direction. I am the main point of contact for all clients, making sure they are up to speed during the whole process, and helping them make their vision come to life!
What project are you most proud of? And why?
Building a website that not only encompasses the clients needs but includes functionality to make the target audiences’ visit easy and fun is my main goal. I am proud when my division completes any new features that are requested by the client.
What drives you?
Client satisfaction is my largest priority! Working directly with the client to outline their needs and make it happen. Client satisfaction includes building a successful website!
What website trends are you seeing?
All websites should now be built using the “mobile first” approach. With traffic largely originating from users’ cell phones, this is a must.
Trends also include:
- Large hero images
- Entrance animations on scroll
- Sticky headers and sidebars
